Homemade Mint Treats for Dogs: ‘Puppermint’ Dog Cookies

Some things are just mint to be...and your pup will surely agree!

Want your dog to have fresh minty breath and a nice full belly? Say hello to our homemade mint treats for dogs!

Now I don’t know about you, but I find it soooo hard to resist a smooch from my pup Coco. And it’s always a much more enjoyable smooch-fest when her breath smells nice and fresh.

Ever since Coco was a pup, she would always sniff out where anything mint was hidden. It seems like just yesterday when she tore a hole through a backpack to get to the mint lip balm.

That’s why I have created these little Pupper-mint dog treats (get it?!) for her to enjoy. These are completely grain-free dog treats, packed with organic nutritious ingredients, and will also give her fresh minty breath.

The kid just loves mint, so I am excited she finally has some minty dog treats of her own to enjoy. I hope your pup loves them too!

I’m definitely planning on making these here in a few days. The pups need something to enjoy on Christmas too!

    This recipe looks fantastic!

And your story is all too familiar – my St. Bernard, Cliff, is obsessed with my favourite mint chapstick. I get covered in slobbery puppy kisses every time I apply it.

Do you think dried pure peppermint leaves, bought as organic pure mint tea, could be used as a substitute for fresh mint leaves? I live in remote northern Canada, 3 hours from a grocery store, so I don’t have access to fresh leaves.

Please let me know your thoughts!

  3. These are the cutest and super simple to make! Thanks for sharing, these will definitely be in our future 🙂

Hello i was pinterest and saw some of your dog/pup recipes and I just want to say it looks awesome and definitely trying it! I dont have my puppy yet but I will be getting her at the end of Jan. How old does a puppy have to be to actually eat these recipes?

Hey there! I know this is a post from last year but I am hoping for a response. I tried making these today, but think I went wrong somewhere. It’s 2 cups of almond flour? Is there different types of almond flour? I only found one type at my grocery store and I found that it just crumbled no matter what I did. Not sure if this is normal. I tried adding more water which didn’t help then I tried adding more coconut flour which didn’t help. I’m very upset I was so looking forward to this. And I just wasted $30 in ingredients. What should almond flour be like? The one I got looked like almonds very finely gained down.

    Thank you
    Julie
