A Day in the Life of a Dog Mom
“Crazy Dog Lady” is too harsh. I prefer lovingly involved dog mom powered by wine. We've teamed up with #dogmomcentral The Dapper Paw to bring you a day in the life of a Dog Mom. Can you relate?

Ever wondered what a day in the life of a dog mom looks like?
Maybe you’re a dog mom yourself, and you’re curious to know just how extra you are in comparison to other dog moms?
Well, wonder no more. Whether you consider yourself to be a clingy or cool dog mom, whether you manage your dog’s social media presence or happen to be their personal chef – whatever kind of dog mom you are – this dog mom diary will have you in stitches!
Truth be told, when it comes to giving our precious fur babies the 5-star life of luxury they deserve, us dog moms have plenty in common. From talking to our dogs as if they are humans, to dressing up our dogs at every opportunity, to coming up with elaborate lies just so we can stay home with our dog on a Friday night (‘sorry, I can’t make it…the water pipes burst and the house is flooding!’ you reply to your friends while secretly watching Netflix on the couch and sharing pizza with your dog). Yes, we are all guilty!
Without further ado, read the entries below and let’s see just how much you relate to as a fellow dog mom.

Dog Mom Diary: A Day in the Life
5.00am Wake up to paws in my face. Whoever said “let sleeping dogs lie” have never met a blanket hog who takes up 90% of the bed.
6.00am Feel guilty about leaving my dog at home to go to my early morning spin class. Hit the snooze button one more time.
6.05am Dog Wakes Up. Immediately wants to go for a walk.
6.06am Dog boops me on the head.
6.07am Dog starts pulling the blanket off the bed.
6.08am Out of bed, ready for walkies.
6.10am Hit the pavement. Dog wearing designer harness, embellished hand made collar and trendy ombre rope leash. I’m in a pajama top with an ice cream stain from last night, accessorized with a poo bag. At least it’s not full. Oh wait…
7.00am Ensure dog gets their daily brush to boost circulation. Finish with a spritz to keep their coat nice and shiny. Realise I now have no time to wash my hair and reach for the dry shampoo. Top knot it is today.
9.00am Late to work after spending an hour removing dog hair from my new jacket. The cuddles were worth it.
9.01am Ready to dive into my big work project. Just after I like this hilarious dog meme on Facebook…
9.30am New co-worker starts today. Says he’s not a dog person. Go away Dave.
10.00am Attempt to take a photo in a work meeting. iPhone storage is full. Regret spending 2 hours taking photos of my dog sleeping last night. Not really.
12.00pm Try to buy a new phone at lunch. Assistant: So do you want the 32GB or the 128GB? Me: What’s that in dog photos?
2.00pm Someone brings a dog into the office. It’s the same as when a dog would turn up at school. Best. Day. Ever. Consider career change so I can bring my dog to work.
3.00pm Check in on my app that lets me see what crazy antics my dog has gotten up to while I’m away. Uh OK. Either eating or sleeping. I can relate.
5.00pm Social media scrolling during the commute home. Consider hiring a professional photographer and stylist to make my dog’s Instagram page pop. Have an existential crisis when I realize most dogs on Insta are more popular than me.
5.30pm Home time. Covered in paws, kisses and excited yelps. The best part of the day.
7.00pm Whip up a nutritious grain free, superfood dinner for my dog. Speed dial a pizza for me.
7.30pm Neflix. Chocolate. Online Shopping. Puppy Cuddles. How did I get so lucky?
