As our pets become more and more part of our family, it’s become prevalent that we target their healthcare as we do our own. Feeding them a balanced diet, and maintaining their exercise and mental stimulation are paramount, and more recently, natural supplements have entered the world of dog care encouraging us to improve the health and wellbeing of our furry friends.

One such supplement is Rose-Hip Vital Canine. Having recently put it through its paces, here’s what I discovered…

THE DETAILS

Rose-Hip Vital Canine is an all natural powder that you add to your dog’s food to improve their joint health and general wellbeing.

The powder is made from 100% natural Rosehip fruit farmed in the nutrient-rich soils of Denmark. During the drying process of the Rosehips, an active compound is activated which acts as a natural anti-inflammatory, helping maintain healthy joints. Used daily it helps prevent and reduce joint damage, pain and stiffness in young and older dogs alike.

ALL NATURAL

As an owner of a dog with arthritis, it’s great to see an all natural product on the market. Rose-Hip Vital Canine is 100% plant based and does not contain any animal ingredients (including shellfish) so it’s perfect for vegan living.

Suitable for sensitive dogs, it does not contain any yeast, gluten, wheat, dairy, lactose or genetically modified ingredients.

THE RESULTS

I trialled Rose-Hip Vital Canine on Soda over 3 weeks. Soda has a history of hip dysplasia, and arthritis in a number of joints – the perfect candidate! Using the provided measure scoop to mix it into her food, Soda gobbled it up happily on a daily basis.

During her time on Rose-Hip Vital Canine Soda maintained a healthy gait and energy level. As the weather became cooler, I looked for signs of lameness and stiffness that usually accompanies the change of season, but on Rose-Hip Vital Soda was full of energy and ready to walk, run and play at a moments notice. Especially whenever I was keen to sit on the couch and watch the latest episode of Mad Men. Damn those healthy joints!

GREAT FOR OLDER DOGS

While Rose-Hip Vital Canine has benefits to dogs of all ages, the biggest winners here are older dogs or those suffering from joint pain. Limping, stiff or tired dogs often have the energy and inclination to run and play as they used to and are only slowed down by the pain in their joints. Now while us older human folks have ocean cruising, lamenting younger generations general failure, and sensible shoe buying to keep us happy, dogs just want to run and play – and for that they need good joints.

Rose-Hip Vital Canine is a great addition to an elderly dog’s diet to help protect them against joint problems and reduce problems associated with inflammation and arthritis. Simply add a scoop a day to your dog’s meal and get them active again!
