Hooray for October! It’s our favourite month for so many reasons: halloween, apple festivals, vibrant leaves, the crisp cool air, and of course, PUMPKIN everything.
We have made it our family tradition to pick pumpkins together every October, and it has become somewhat of a photo opt for Bean. She loves all the smells and funky shaped pumpkins and runs to as many as she can, as if they will automatically taste like pumpkin pie (sorry kid!). That would be pretty amazing though, wouldn’t it? I like the way she thinks!
This year was a little too muddy to go to a patch (white dog + mud, not a good idea!) so we decided to go to our favorite little nursery, The Olde Garden Shack, and it was even more beautiful than a patch.
They always have the prettiest selection, and this year they had the biggest variety of pastel pumpkins and squash I’ve ever seen. Blue, pink, peach yellow, cream, gray, you name it! Coco’s colouring and halloween Mattie & Margot collar blended in with the backdrop perfectly. The little fashionista even chose a white pumpkin – apparently she’s been into the monochromatic look this year.
I always have a hard time deciding which one to get! Is it just me or does anyone else feel bad for the odd and mis-shaped pumpkins? I always feel like they are the last ones to be picked for gym class. Poor fellas.
How do you celebrate fall? Do you go pumpkin picking and then glitter them? Go to festivals? Make your dog’s halloween costume? We’d love to hear all about how you get in the autumn spirit, and your family traditions.
Wishing you a happy October, everyone!
There so beautiful! I love your tradition… Halloween isn’t big here in Australia therefore neither are pumpkins.
I’d love to take my dogs for photos like the ones below but having them stand on a sticky supermarket floor isn’t that glamorous… I’ll just dream and look at your photos instead 😀
Also WOW Coco Bean looks so white and dazzling in that photo among the autumn leaves.
