Introducing our Anzac Biscuit dog treat recipe! Today we’re putting a pooch-safe twist on an Aussie favourite.

Anzac Biscuits are a hundred year old tradition here in Australia. This easy-to-make sweet treat was sent from homes to Australian and New Zealand soldiers (ANZACS) serving in World War I.

So in celebration of this important national holiday, we decided to make dog-friendly Anzac Biscuits just for your pup. Because why should your dog miss out on the deliciousness?

Try these drool-worthy Anzac biscuits for dogs below – they’re SO easy to make too.

Ingredients:

• 1 1/4 cups wholemeal flour
• 1 cup rolled oats
• 3/4 cups desiccated coconut
• 3 tablespoons golden syrup
• 250g apple sauce

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 175C. Line a flat baking tray with baking paper.

2. Combine flour, oats and coconut in a bowl.

3. Mix the applesauce and golden syrup in a separate bowl, then add to the dry ingredients. Mix together until fully combined.

4. Scoop out bite sized pieces with a spoon and roll into little balls, and place on lined tray. Flatten each cookie with the back of a fork.

5. Bake cookies for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Place on baking rack to cool.

* Makes 16 Anzac biscuits
* Golden syrup can be interchanged with treacle.
