You love your dog to bits.

But sometimes it can be hard to be the ‘perfect dog owner’. There is just so much to do…Grooming, playing, walking, feeding…it can be easy to get overwhelmed and let things fall by the wayside.

So today I have 3 simple dog life hacks to help you be a gold star pet parent in five minutes or less…

DOG LIFE HACKS #1: SWITCH OFF

It seems like today if we’re not working on the computer, we’re scrolling through facebook, or channel surfing on the TV.

It’s time to switch off! Do I mean unplug entirely? Of course not.

What you need to do is make the habit of asking yourself this question before you switch on the TV or log on to social media: Have I walked my dog today?

Because the harsh truth is if you have time to watch TV, you have time to go for a walk.

By enforcing the rule that your dog gets a walk before a TV can be switched on, or facebook gets logged into, you’re ensuring your pup’s health and happiness always comes first.

DOG LIFE HACKS #2: ADD A SUPPLEMENT

Raw food, homemade recipes, commercial mixes…there are so many dog foods out there these days, it can be confusing to know what is best for your dog.

There is one easy way you can give your pooch an extra ‘insurance policy’ on their health though: dog supplements.

It’s so easy. It doesn’t matter what dog food you buy. You just sprinkle onto their meal – whether it’s cooked, raw or commercial.

By adding a spoonful of a dog supplement to your pooch’s dinner you’re giving your pup a top up of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids for their long term health and wellbeing.

DOG LIFE HACKS #3: TOY CHECK

Dog love to play with toys, but sometimes those toys can be rough-housed just a little bit too much.

Yet broken and damaged toys can be seriously harmful to their health. Small materials can be choking hazards and inner linings and stuffing can severely damage their digestive system if eaten.

The 5 minute quick fix habit? The toy whip around.

Every few days, just do a quick whip around the house and yard to collect your pup’s toys. If any are damaged either discard them or place them out of reach for repair.

That way your dog stays safe and happy, with a full toy collection intact.
