To say I’m beyond blown away with the post we have lined up for you today is an understatement.
The gorgeous Casey from Pretty Organized is here to share her super organized doggy drawer. Who knew slobbery dog toys, tangles leashes and all those bits n bobs we have as dog owners could be so neat? Take it away Casey…
GUEST POST: PRETTY ORGANIZED
Hey guys! I am SO excited to stop by today & share one of my space-saving projects with you!
We live in a tiny house & recently made over our entryway into a dining room. We used the STUVA series from Ikea to create bench seating with storage, and one of those storage drawers is now home to our dandy little doggy drawer! 🙂
We keep everything right by the front door, so whenever we get ready to go for a “W” (we can’t say “Walk” without starting a happy commotion around here), we can just grab whatever we need & head outside.
I separated their extra collars and leashes into smaller baskets to help keep them from getting tangled. These drawers are really deep, so I re-purposed an adjustable cabinet shelf to create extra space under the leash baskets. I had a shoe box that fit perfectly, and I just covered it with an old towel to make it a little more slobber-proof. Voila! A great little spot to stash their toys.
On the right, I decided to dedicate a basket to grooming. A little towel is tucked in the corner for wiping wet paws, and all of their brushes, nail clippers, etc. are nestled in an old coffee container. I also tossed all of their monthly medications (flea meds, heartworm, etc.) into a Ziplock bag.
I love our new doggy drawer! Everything is easily accessible, right by the front door, and all in one spot. Using all white containers helps keep the deep drawer nice and bright. The plastic baskets are easy to clean, and if the towel lining the toy box gets too gross, I can just toss it in the washer. Easy peasy!
How do you keep YOUR pups on point?

About Casey
My name is Casey, and I live in a sweet, tiny little house in Delaware, USA with my hubby and our two adorable rescue dogs, Basil & Chase. As a longtime fan of Serena’s beautiful blog, I am absolutely THRILLED to be guest posting for Pretty Fluffy!
I used to be a total mess, but after I let go of the idea of “perfect,” I found freedom. I stopped trying to fit the mold & learned how to make organization work with my natural habits, and I have become obsessed with creative organizing solutions ever since!
When I’m not drooling over the latest amazing pet-friendly project features over here, you can find me happily tinkering away on my own blog, Pretty Organized, where I share my addiction to aesthetics, small space storage ideas, DIY projects, and all things aqua!
Aww! Love this! So fun to see two of my favorite bloggers partnering up! And such a great storage solution for puppy items! Makes me grin ear to ear!
xo,
Jen
Thanks so much, Jen!!
Thanks Jen! Dogs + Organization are a match made in heaven! 🙂
So great! Knowing my Harvey, he’d have that gorgeous organized drawer a mess in 10 seconds flat.
Ha! Is Harvey a pup or a person?
Thanks Steph! Harvey (the pooch!) would love it. My favourite part was the towel for where the toys go, as if Harvey’s like Soda his toys end up with slobber and god knows what else 🙂
Love it! I can’t wait until we move and can purchase a piece of furniture for our entryway so I can do something similar. Although I have way too many dog toys to fit in one drawer 😉
Ha ha – you and me both Kaitlin.
It’s such a great idea – maybe have one drawer like the above and then a separate drawer just for toys 🙂
Ooh, smart solution!! Our pups tend to destroy most fluffy playthings immediately, and our neighbors run a foster home for rescue dogs, so we always end up giving a ton of toys away. Otherwise, I would totally need a 2nd drawer, too!!
I love how you make it all so doable, yet gorgeous. You give a non-Martha Stewart person like me much hope! Great job!
We’ve all got a little Martha Stewart in us!
Casey did an amazing job, didn’t she? 🙂
Such a great idea! I really need to work on organizing all our pup’s stuff. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for visiting Chelsea!
Thanks so much, Chelsea!!
Love this! We have two dogs, Wolfgang and Gendry and this is perfect! I have been looking for an organization solution for our entryway since we live in a 3 story town house and the closest closet is upstairs (boo!). My favorite part is the “easy peasy!”. Being able to just pop the containers in the dishwasher is so convenient!
Thank you!
Sounds like the perfect storage solution for you Catrina! Your dogs have gorgeous names! x
This is a great way to make life on the go a little easier and more organized! Great job, Casey! xo
Thanks Sar! x
Thanks, Sarah!! Love your blog, btw! 🙂
This is so cute! Thanks for sharing – it looks like something straight out of a magazine!
It does doesn’t it? Casey is a great inspiration! 🙂
Aww, thank you both so much! It was an honor to be able to guest post for your beautiful blog 🙂
This is a great post!! Every time we visit a new client they show concern about “how to organize doggie stuff”, this happens mostly when they have to show us where the leashes are. I LOVE that Casey is careful mentioning the the “W…” word 😉 … I will share straight right on Facebook and our blog. xo
Yes the “W” word doesn’t get mentioned in our house unless we’re in for a good walk!!
I have to say leashes are the hardest thing to keep organized – but this post did it!
Thanks for sharing x
Thank you so much, Evelyn!!
Genius! And beauty! divine
