You’ve heard of the cooking show ‘Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee’, well this is our take on a Semi-DIY Dog Toy. It is easy peasy to make and sure to win over your dog!
When we posted our DIY Holiday Dog Donut Toy back in 2013, we thought they were the coolest and easiest homemade toys ever (the dogs thought so too!). We then questioned how we could make this simple, yet fun, toy more dynamic. Enter the rope toy. A classic. Beloved by dogs around the world. Why not combine them?
We did and BOOM, Coco’s toy-loving-mind was blown.
We hope your dog enjoys this Donut Rope Dog Toy just as much!
Materials
*3 Pair of Thick Ankle Socks (Multi-colored is fun!)
Scissors
Store Bought Rope Toy
*Depending on the size of your rope toy, you may require more or less than 3 pair of socks.
Tutorial
1. Cut the tip off of all 6 socks so that they all have openings on both ends.
2. Begin rolling 1 sock of each color inward until you have 3 nicely formed donuts. Take the 3 remaining socks and roll each color over it’s mate so that you have 3 thicker donuts.
3. Once you have all of your donuts made, slide them one by one onto the rope toy, and voila!
