Looking to spoil your pup with an easy DIY rope dog toy? How about a simple dog toy made from socks? (every pup’s favourite!)
Well, we think we’ve combined the best of both worlds. Inspired by the classic cooking show ‘Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee’, this is our take on a semi-DIY dog toy.
We promise it is easy peasy to make, and sure to win over your playful pupper!
How to Make Your Own Doggy Donuts Dog Toy
If you’ve seen our popular donut dog treats recipe, you’ll already know we love our donuts here at Pretty Fluffy.
But in fact, it wasn’t the recipe that inspired this fun DIY dog toy made from socks!
A few years back when our DIY Holiday Doggy Donut Toy turned out to be a hit with pet parents, we got to thinking about how we could make this simple yet super fun dog toy a little more dynamic…especially for pups who love to tug and chew their toys!
After a little brainstorming, it hit us! Enter the rope toy. Yes, the classic, beloved-by-dogs-the-world-over dog toy.
We thought, why not combine them? So we did. And BOOM, Coco’s toy-loving-mind was blown.
We hope your dog enjoys this DIY dog toy just as much!
What you’ll need:
- 3 pairs of thick ankle socks (mix and match with any colour, pattern or print you like!)
- Scissors
- Store-bought rope toy
Instructions:
1. Cut the tip off of all six pairs of socks so that they all have openings on both ends.
2. Begin rolling one sock of each colour inward, until you have 3 nicely formed donuts.
3. Take the three remaining socks and roll each colour over its matching mate, so it creates three nice and thick donuts.
4. Once you have all of your donuts made, slide them one by one onto the rope toy, and voila!
