No Bake Peanut Butter and Carob Treats for Dogs

It's like Reese's Pieces for dogs! And all you need are 3 ingredients.

Why do these no bake peanut butter and carob treats for dogs hold a special place in our culinary hearts?

Because we’re big chocoholics. Huge, in fact.

But when it comes to dogs, chocolate is a big no-no. It’s toxic, and can make your pup very sick if consumed.

Carob chocolate on the other hand is naturally sweet, looks just like chocolate, and most importantly – is completely safe for dogs to eat.

This is exciting news for dog mums like us who try to include our pups in everything we do (and eat, when safe to do so!)

And as big fan girls of Reese’s Pieces, we were inspired to make a dog-friendly version we could all enjoy – using only 3 ingredients!

So, if your pupper loves homemade dog treats with coconut oil, or no bake dog treats with peanut butter, this scrumptious recipe will be their new all-time fave.

Instructions:
  • Half fill a small-medium saucepan with water and bring to the boil.
  • In a heat-proof bowl, add the divided portion of your coconut oil with the peanut butter.
  • Reduce the heat of the saucepan to low. Place the bowl over the top of the saucepan and slowly melt the coconut oil and peanut butter mixture.
  • To create the layered effect like we have, half-fill your moulds with the carob liquid.
  • When finished, even out the mixture in the moulds by giving them a slight tap.
  • Remove any excess mixture on top of the moulds with a butter knife or spatula.

  • Freeze until set (usually around 30 mins).
  • While the first mixture is setting, repeat the process above and melt together the remaining coconut oil with the carob powder (or carob drops if using) over the stove top.
  • Once the carob moulds are set, add the next layer by pouring the peanut butter liquid over the top.
  • Tap moulds again to ensure the mixture is evenly spread.
  • Freeze for 2-3 hours or until solid before removing treats from the moulds.

Makes 10-15 treats depending on the size of your moulds.
